Maileon-to-AJO migration design in European banking
Sector: Consumer finance
Context: a consumer finance institution operating across several European markets
- Adobe Experience Platform
- Real-Time CDP
- Adobe Journey Optimizer
- OneTrust
- Data Prep
- Data Landing Zone
The problem
Maileon was being retired. Audience data came from the warehouse; consent was managed in OneTrust. The move to AJO needed to preserve segmentation and exclusions, and link prospects to customers.
What I did
- I designed the replacement architecture with AEP, Real-Time CDP and AJO.
- I defined XDM schemas, datasets, namespaces, identities, and merge policies to unify customer, prospect, and consent data.
- I defined batch ingestion from the warehouse and the OneTrust integration, with Data Prep and suppression rules.
- I designed a derived identifier for prospects, linked to their subsequent customer profile.
- I prepared audiences and the first journeys by market and language, with exit conditions and checks before rollout.
Result
- Documented data model and technical design, with AEP tested in pre-production and the first journeys prepared.
- The design specified how to build RT-CDP audiences, use them in AJO and exclude profiles based on OneTrust consent.
