Consent policy
Experience Platform consent policy
A consent policy declares which consent attributes a profile must carry to take part in a marketing action. When the action matches, a profile without that consent stays out of the activation.
- When it applies
- It fits when consent changes often and must apply the same way in destinations and in Journey Optimizer, where it attaches to a channel configuration or a custom action.
- What it is confused with
- It is inclusive: it decides which profiles get in. Data usage policies are restrictive and block labelled fields. And it only exists with Healthcare Shield or Privacy and Security Shield.
- Architecture consequence
- These custom policies require Shield. Standard AJO still applies its native consent controls. Brand-specific preferences require additional design.
